Bathtime at our house.

Last night was bathtime at our house. Here is Chantrell before her bath. She looks so happy and content. Little does she know what is coming up next.
Barry is giving her a bath. She is unhappy and doesn't like to get wet. She usually cries the whole time. I got her first bath with daddy on videotape.

We have to be prepared with a burp rag. She also burps really loud, like 3 or 4 times in a row. It's pretty funny.Yummy!!! Almost ready for bed. She sleeps about 3 and a half to 4 hours now.

Here is Brenna before her bath. We use the sponge shaped like a bear to put the girls on the counter while we change them.

Happy Father's Day!!!

Sunday, my girls sat on their daddy's lap. Happy Father's Day to Barry and to my dad too. Brenna is on the left and Chantrell is on the right.
Barry is looking up this time. The babies are so much fun to play with. They do keep us busy and we don't get that much sleep. They are so worth it!!!
On Monday, we went "green". Our truck doesn't fit all four of us. So, we decided to walk about six blocks to the WIC office. It's the girls first time in the stroller. They did pretty good.Later that night, the girls went to bed. Brenna fusses unless she has her binkie in her mouth. Now, she sleeps like a baby. The bean bag with the duck on it is from the hospital. The grandma volunteers make fleece pockets that they fill with beans and then sew it up. It helps to hold the binkies in the babies mouth. Tuesday, we went to the girl's doctor appt. Again, we decided to walk because it is so close. Both the girls gained weight and are growing just fine. Chantrell weighs 9 lbs. 2 oz. and Brenna weighs 7 lbs. 10 oz. They each have gained about 3 pounds in 6 weeks. They have also grown about 4 inches in length too. We get lots of looks and comments wherever we go. People love to ask about our twin girls. I love our stroller. It works perfectly.
This afternoon, we put the girls down for their nap. They are too cute in the crib together. I do take alot of pictures of them when they are sleeping.

Sleepy time at our house.

I stay up at night with the girls and then I go to sleep at about 6 am or 7 am when Barry gets up. I say, "Tag, you're it." Then he lets me sleep until about 12 or 1 pm. Barry sleeps from about midnight to the morning. So far the schedule is working out for us. If either of us needs help during our shift, then we can wake the other person up and they can come help. It's not that hard taking care of two babies right now. The only problem is when both of them wake up really hungry at the same time and are crying.

Chantrell is sleeping on the couch nestled between the cushions. The girls sleep better when all parts of their body are touching something. In the crib, there is a lot of space for them to feel around.

Brenna asleep on the other couch. My girls are so precious. I love spending time with them and kissing them.Grandma Bowman's gifts for the girls. Thank you !!! They just now fit into newborn clothes. They will wear the tights and white shoes when they are blessed. We are getting excited about our trip to Oregon for the family reunion. Only two weeks to go!!!Barry is enjoying the cool blast of air from the swamp cooler. Our landlord just brought it over today and set it up. The weather is supposed to be in the 90's this weekend.Barry is holding Chantrell and she is crying because she is wet. Dad gets to change her diaper.

Chantrell has a loud cry. Much louder than her sister. Chantrell and I are enjoying our bonding time together.Chantrell is trying out the vibrating seat for the first time. We keep the girls bundled up because of the cool air from the swamp cooler. She likes to look at the toys.

OUCH!!!! My hand hurts!!!

On Thursday, I went to the dermatologist. He took one look at my hand and said, "It's a pyogenic granuloma." And I asked him what it was. Sometimes pregnant women get these growths that start out small like a blood blister or a bug bite. The body doesn't know to stop healing the sore and this growth of skin and blood start to form. The doctor told me he hasn't seen one so big as the one on my hand. He had to numb the area around it and slice it off. They will send it to a lab to make sure it's not a tumor or cancerous. Then, he had to scrape the skin and flesh and it bled like crazy. I watched some of it and during some parts, I had to look away. The part that freaked me out was the cauterizing of the skin. It smelled like something was burning. GROSS!!! Hopefully, it will not grow back again. My body did weird things while I was pregnant.

I have this sore on my hand that will probably take awhile to heal over. The doctor said I will have a big white scar when it is all healed.

Brenna is on the left in purple and Chantrell is in pink with the green binkie by her face. I had them on the bed by each other. When Chantrell is feeling better and doesn't have her infection anymore, I will put them close together for some really cute pictures. Right now, if you pick up and touch Chantrell, you have to wash your hands before you touch Brenna. We are trying not to get Brenna sick with the same infection that Chantrell has.Baby Chantrell asleep on the couch. Her shirt says, "Favorite things, daddy, hugs, kisses." I just love this outfit with the purple and white striped pants. It is so cute how she sleeps with her arms up by her head.

Chantrell is home!!!! Finally!!!!

Oh Happy Day!!!! Chantrell was finally released from the hospital today. I was so happy and excited to have her home for good. She still has an infection and is taking medicine for it. She can drink good from a bottle now and even gained a half an ounce last night. As long as she continues to gain a little weight each day, she will be fine. Her pediatrician will see her and Brenna next week. Chantrell is doing great on the lactose-free formula. There is less spit up and her tummy feels better. We might try the new formula for Brenna too. She seems to have a lot of gas and fusses with a tummy ache. She cries and her tummy gets hard like a rock. Here are some pictures from today.

Barry is getting Chantrell ready to go home in her cute car seat. She is not in her usual purple outfit. It got dirty and I had to put her in a pink one.

She does look a lot like her sister in this photo. It would be hard to know who is who if they are both wearing pink in a photo. When you hold them, then you can definately tell them apart. Chantrell is a big baby.
