Kay-Lynn asked for the recipe for Mom's Lime Jello Dessert. Here it is.

Dissolve 1 large pkg of lime jello in two cups boiling water. Add jello a little at a time and add 1 pkg of cream chesse, 2 cups mini-marshmallows. Stir until dissolved. Add two cans crushed pineapple and juice. Add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. Set in dish and chill.

Topping: 1 pkg cream cheese, 1/4 cup whipping cream, 1/4 powdered sugar, 1 t lemon juice. Whip together and frost jello.

Hope it turns out good. We are making it for Thanksgiving too.

Halloween Pictures!!

Here are the long awaited for pictures of our Halloween activities. At least I'm getting them posted before Thanksgiving. Barry got us 6 pumpkins and we all got to carve our own. Tiffy and Adam shared one. Racer, Rhiannon, and Ryder all ready to scrape out the seeds of their pumpkins.
Happy kids posing for pictures.
Ryder is showing me some of the seeds and guts from his pumpkin.
The twins in their new high chairs. They are called space savers because they don't have legs on the high chair. The chairs can be adjusted to fit any kind of chair or bar stool. I love them and the girls like them too. It is a safe place for them to be and they just love to eat baby food and play with toys on the trays.
Nan and her sticky pumpkin hands.
She is pretending to eat a piece. Mmmmmm...it was delicious. What a cutie Racer is. His mommy Tiffy is in the background making dinner.Adam is helping out with the scrapping of the pumpkin. What is that crazy mommy doing?? She wanted to be part of the fun too.
Barry carved Chantrell's pumpkin. He added a little baby with a curl on her head. He did it free hand with no paper guide like I used for Brenna's.Barry is really concentrating on his pumpkin. Rhiannon bites her fingernails in anticipation. When will it be done? Will he mess it up? Brenna's pumpkin is almost done.Later in the week we did a photo shoot of the pumpkins. Chantrell's baby, Rhiannon's wolf, Ryder's skull, and Racer's witch .On the end is the combined effort of Tiffany and Adam. A skeleton climbing through the pumpkin. I think that they all turned out nice.

Ryder is holding Brenna by her pumpkin.Ryder is holding Chantrell by her pumpkin now. The kids love their cousins. My, Rhiannon...what big eyes you have!! The three kiddies and their pumpkins. Racer was outside in just his t-shirt and undies. Show me some cool moves.Howling at the moon. More Halloween pictures are coming.

Part two of the Eugene trip.

On Saturday, October 18th, we went to Kaila's swim meet and Levi's football game. Kaila and Levi are Kevin's kids. Barry and Dave went early to Autzen's Stadium where the Oregon Ducks play football. Levi is in Junior High and his team got to play in this stadium where the college team usually plays. Levi's team won the game. Barry took the video camera and got Levi playing. His dad, Kevin, is the coach.
This is Rose and Dave's house decorated for Halloween. We all went to watch Kaila swim at the pool. There were over 400 people in there. All the different age groups were swimming and their parents and family cheering them on.
Here is Kaila Lee before her meet. She is 6 feet 1 inches tall and can swim really fast. She gets her height from her dad. Kevin is 6 feet 4 inches tall.
She is in the black bathing suit and blue swim cap.
Get Ready!!
On your mark...get set...
GO!!! I took two video clips of her swimming, but of course they won't load on the computer because they are longer than one minute. Stupid computer. Anyway, Kaila came in first place in all of her events. She has received numerous college letters wanting her to go to their school, full ride scholarship included. She has her heart set on Stanford in California. Kaila is a straight A student and a great athlete. She wants to compete in the 2012 London Olympics. We hope she gets the chance to swim there.
Stretching legs for the next swim.Ready to go again.Driving home along the coast. We had just gone through Newport, where we used to live. It was a really pretty day for a drive. This one turned out really nice from a moving car.

Our trip to Eugene, October 17-18.

We borrowed Dad's truck and drove to Eugene to visit with family. This is the Willamette River and bridges on the way to Springfield where Barry's mother Carolyn lives. It was the first time that she got to see the babies.
Picture of me, taken by me.
The girls riding in the back seat chewing on their toys.
Daddy Barry... our trusty driver.
We passed by the Uof O and I got this picture. Go Ducks!!!

Brenna is being held by Barry's only grandmother, Margaret Voss. She is Carolyn's mother. Her birthday was the next day and she is now 89 years old. She is very strong and can get around pretty good. Her eyesight and hearing are pretty bad, but that is to be expected. She loved the little girls. Here is Chantrell and her great grandmother.
Chantrell is being held by her grandmom, Carolyn Inman, Barry's mom. She really enjoyed seeing her new grandchildren.
This is John Howard, Carolyn's boyfriend, who is holding their dog Scrapy. The dog is so cute and loves to play with his toys. He is a Dachsund, a hot dog doggie. The dog also loved to lick the babies on the face. We had to keep pulling him away. He just wanted to play and love on the babies. Barry wants to get one of those kinds of dogs. He says that they stay small and love to be held.See...he just wants attention. Brenna liked playing with his ears.
John is holding their cat, I forgot her name, and Scrappy. They get along pretty good.
Family portrait time. Four generations...great grandma, grandma, father and two daughters. Pretty cool.

This is a cute picture too. Both of the girls are looking at the camera.

Scrappy wanted to be in the picture too.
The girls are playing on the floor with toys. They can hold their heads up high and look at each other. They are starting to get up on their hands and knees and rock back and forth. Next, they will be crawling all around. This is the cute little shed in the backyard. It looks like an old fashioned barn. They also have plum, apple, and a type of nut tree (filbert). We came home with bags of apples and Barry made apple bread.John and Margaret are picking grapes from the vine. I forgot that grapes have seeds in them. I'm used to eating seedless grapes. John says that these kinds of grapes are good for wine making. I didn't like the taste of the grapes and they had too many seeds in them. Barry loved them and ate the seeds with the grape.Lots of apples are on the ground. We took most of the apples still in the tree. I would love to have a place of our own where we could grow fruits and vegetables. They taste so fresh and juicy when it comes right from nature.
Close up of Brenna and her mommy.Picture of the back deck and stairs.Another good family picture.Barry gets his sense of humor from his mom. They both like to tease people. They have a little pond with goldfish in it. We had a great visit at their place. Carolyn made us a terrific lunch and we watched some videos of the babies when they were first born. We can't wait to see everybody again.

Next, we went over to Rose and David Lee's house. We visited with Tony's girls, Whitney and Chelsey. Here is Whitney holding Brenna. This is Brianna, Sally's youngest daughter. A picture of Chelsey, their mom Debbie and Whitney. Debbie used to be married to Tony, Barry's younger brother.Pretty fall leaves on the ground in Eugene. This is the big tree that you can see from the living room at Rose and Dave's place. It is just starting to turn colors and lose its leaves.
